About Us

E.P.I.C. Chiropractic Front DoorDr. Richard (Rick) Simpson began practicing here in Lexington in 2012. He was an associate at a different practice until November 2016. “From about September 2016 on I had this gut feeling it was time to go out on my own.”

To get more clarity, Dr. Rick spent some time hiking in the woods and brought his Bible. “I said, ‘Alright, God, if this is what you’re telling me to do, give me peace about the situation.’ As soon as I said the words all my angst and fears were gone.” After buying the practice from Dawson Family Chiropractic, Dr. Rick officially became the owner of E.P.I.C. Chiropractic on April 5, 2017.

The E.P.I.C. Chiropractic Difference

At our inviting practice, Dr. Rick takes the time to get to know his patients. He’s fun, relatable and laid-back. “The way I am at the office is the way you’ll see me at my kids’ games or my church on Sunday.” He also explains everything to patients on the first day, so they know where he’s coming from. The care he delivers is customized to meet each person’s unique needs.

Are You Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired?

While we see a diverse array of patients from young athletes to senior citizens, the ones we feel can benefit most from chiropractic care are those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. These individuals may be tired of taking one or more prescription drugs and are ready to make lifestyle changes to improve their health. Dr. Rick’s not looking to see you twice a week for the rest of your life. “I want to get you in and feeling better. Then I’ll teach you the tools necessary, so the issue doesn’t return.”

Putting Out the Health Fires

Instead of chasing symptoms, Dr. Rick digs down into the roots. He likes the analogy of a fire in the kitchen. “When a patient’s in pain, I tell them their pain is the smoke detector going off in the hallway when there’s a fire in the kitchen. While you can stop the smoke detector from beeping by removing the battery, I care more about the fire in the kitchen.”

He has to put the fire out, so the smoke detector goes off. “We can’t leave the patient after the fire’s been put out because then you’re left with water and fire damage. Once we put the fire out we need to tear everything out, fix the issue and build you back up. That’s true health care.”
