Chiropractic Care

At E.P.I.C. Chiropractic in Lexington, we focus on four pillars of care:

Exercise: Every patient will be on an exercise program because movement is life and life is movement.

Psychological: This pillar focuses on the psychological aspect of healing in the sense that we so often give ownership to our conditions (e.g., my cancer or my diabetes). What that does is provide a root for those diseases. At our practice, we have a saying, “We just have to quit our stinkin’ thinkin’.”

Intake: This pillar involves anything we bring in our sphere of relevance, from people we’re around to the food we eat and the water we drink. Studies show that who we are in five years from now is directly reflective of who we hang out with today. Regarding diet, we can only be as healthy as the food we eat; more importantly, the soil our food grows in. That’s why we offer nutritional counseling in our practice.

Christ: As a God-fearing man, Dr. Rick tries to emulate what he believes Christ was — a healer and a place of refuge. Dr. Rick finds it gratifying to help patients experience healing and our practice is a welcoming haven for health.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

From helping those with seasonal allergies to others with chronic pain, chiropractic can give you more energy and help you feel great, so that you can enjoy your favorite activities. That’s because an adjustment facilitates your body’s natural healing process without any interference. When you take care of your spine through regular care, just as you brush and floss your teeth each day, you can enjoy better overall health.

Our Techniques

We primarily use three techniques: Diversified, Gonstead and Upper Cervical. Care is always tailored to each patient’s unique needs. It’s never cookie-cutter but always customized based on the complaint that a patient comes in with. Dr. Rick will continuously adapt care from visit to visit, so your body doesn’t plateau.

The Rewards of One Degree of Change

Dr. Rick recalls a conversation with a pilot about the impact that one degree of change has on a flight. For example, the pilot said if he were to take off from LA flying to New York but was off one degree at takeoff and didn’t correct it during the flight he’d end up flying over Jacksonville, Florida! For Dr. Rick that was a lightbulb thought. He pondered if that much of change can take place during a 3,000-mile flight, what could someone’s life in 1, 3 or 5 years down the road look like because of the changes they’ve made today.
